What is your role? Describe what you do briefly at SpotDraft.

I am a Product Manager at SpotDraft, and my responsibilities cover three main areas: eSign, Clickthrough, and legal operations. In this role, I wear multiple hats. A large part of my job revolves around collaboration and working closely with teams like engineering, design, sales, and customer success. We work together to solve problems and enhance the product. I also handle product demos, often jumping on pre-sales calls to address any product-related questions prospects might have. At the end of the day, my focus is on driving growth, whether that’s increasing users, improving customer satisfaction, or contributing to SpotDraft’s overall revenue.

How did you venture into product management?

I started at SpotDraft as an Associate Product Manager (APM) after working as a developer. Initially, I focused on technical projects, particularly in the integrations space. Back then, there were just a few of us handling integrations, but that experience helped me gain a lot of insight into product management. Over time, I transitioned fully into the product management role and was promoted to Product Manager (PM). It has been a challenging but rewarding journey. I have had the opportunity to experience everything from handling urgent issues, to building new features and improving existing systems. SpotDraft has provided me with ample opportunities to grow and get a taste of all the aspects of being a PM.

Growing up, what were your passions or interests?

As a child, I was always a bit of a generalist. While some kids leaned into specific subjects like math or science, I found joy in almost everything. I liked history just as much as I enjoyed general science. This broad curiosity makes sense now that I look back, as it’s similar to my role as a Product Manager, where you need to get involved in multiple areas. Whether it’s working with sales or understanding customer pain points, I have always enjoyed learning about different aspects of a project or problem. This generalist mindset is something I carry with me, and it’s one of the reasons why I gravitated towards product management.

What are some inherent qualities that help you thrive every day?

First and foremost, curiosity. I’m always interested in understanding things, even those outside my immediate domain. If something new comes up, I dive into it and ask questions like, “Why does this exist? What value does it bring?” Another key quality is ownership. When I’m responsible for something, I make sure I fully understand it and can be relied on to get things done. Collaboration is also crucial to my success. Whether I’m receiving information or reaching out to others, I try to make the process as smooth as possible. I ensure that I’m approachable and never make anyone feel that their questions are “stupid.” Lastly, leadership. As a PM, I lead by example. If my team is working hard, I push myself even harder to ensure I’m creating the right work environment and setting the pace.

Is SpotDraft a high-performance environment? How do you unwind? How do you find a sweet spot between work and life?

SpotDraft is definitely a high-performance environment, and it can be unpredictable at times. Weekdays are mostly work-focused, but I make sure to unwind during the weekends. I’m passionate about music, and I play the keyboard and sing in a band called “The Voice of Mitran.” We have performed at several venues, like Pluto’s Café, and it is a great creative outlet for me. I also enjoy reading, particularly books on product management and user experience design. I believe upskilling is important, especially in a fast-paced industry, so I use my free time to stay on top of trends and continue learning.

What sets SpotDraft apart from other places where you have worked?

One of the things that stands out about SpotDraft is the people. We are very selective in our hiring, and that makes collaboration much smoother. Everyone here is incredibly hardworking and supportive. When a challenge arises, no one hesitates to step in and help. There is a real sense of teamwork. Another thing that sets SpotDraft apart is the close working relationship we have with leadership. Unlike other places where I have worked, the leaders here are deeply involved in even the smallest details. They understand the nuances of the problems we’re trying to solve and are always available to offer guidance or feedback. This level of transparency and involvement is rare, and it’s something I truly appreciate.

How did you plan your growth at SpotDraft?

Growth at SpotDraft has been a natural progression for me, largely because the company has always been open to providing opportunities. I started as an Associate Product Manager working on integrations and slowly expanded my scope into product management. Along the way, I have worked on everything from new feature development to improving existing systems. As I’ve grown in the role and learned to balance the day-to-day responsibilities with long-term strategic thinking, SpotDraft has supported me every step of the way. My goal has always been to contribute to the product’s growth while also growing my own skill set, and I’m fortunate to have found a place where I can do both.

What advice would you give to those starting in product management?

First and foremost, know your product inside and out. Take the time to understand every feature, why it exists, and how it works. This is crucial because the product reflects the culture of the company, and the better you know it, the better you can represent it. I also recommend speaking with people from different functions, whether it’s sales, engineering, or customer success. Understanding their perspectives will help you find overlaps and create better solutions. Lastly, be open to feedback. At SpotDraft, we have a fast feedback culture, and it’s important not to take feedback personally. Instead, the goal is to improve your work and evolve.

Having been at SpotDraft for a few years, how have you seen the company evolve, and what changes do you believe we should embrace or sustain in our culture?

When I first joined SpotDraft, we were rapidly scaling and adapting to new challenges. One thing that has remained consistent is our flexibility. We are not rigid in our processes, and we are always open to changing things if they are not working. This adaptability has helped us grow, and I think it’s something we should continue embracing as we scale further. Another key strength is our transparency. From leadership down to the individual teams, we are open about what’s happening in the business, and that helps everyone align their efforts toward common goals. If we can keep building on these foundations: adaptability, transparency, and collaboration. I genuinely believe that we will continue to thrive as a company.
