As Headout’s team grew, there was a steady inflow of agreements. This led to an added burden to the legal team for making edits to templatized agreements and separately creating and executing agreements. What’s more, there was also a lack of an audit trail. This posed challenges, not only to establish legality, but also to manage a large number of agreements every month.

Headout was at a critical point in business, where growth meant a steady inflow of agreements and hence, they needed to either hire a new team altogether or supplement this growth with technology. They wanted to take the technology route but there again had to be a choice between building it in-house or buying a solution.

Ambiguity and communication gaps were a big challenge for the Headout team. They needed the support and help of multiple teams to amend agreements. This used to end up taking days and there was no version control.

Headout onboarded a large number of vendors. Earlier, they were involved in a more “classical” approach. This led to ambiguity about whether the person signing had the power to do so. The challenge was that there was no audit trail.

In order to present agreements and terms and conditions to vendors, Headout used to either create PDFs or a section on their website where they would host it. This became a challenge because it was hard to access versions, eSign or even maintain an audit trail.
Headout wanted a clickwrap solution that would be implemented pretty quickly and they had a vision of what the solution would look like. Following some discussions, SpotDraft was able to provide Clickthrough with all the required features out-of-box.

For the future, Headout aims to expand the use cases of Clickthrough and Legal Hub. One of the ways is for the culture and people team wherein employee agreements have a fixed format and pre-decided terms and conditions, except “name” and “salary” which can be taken up separately on email. So, a clickwrap via Clickthrough will help the People Team save a lot of time and maintain an audit trail for new hires signing their agreements.
They also aim to use it for onboarding influencers. In order to efficiently do it, clickwrap is a great answer. Clickthrough will be able to significantly aid in this and make the process smoother and legally compliant too.
